at summer


skittering leaves —
I gather the last handful
of scarlet runners


lakeside breeze
a yellow maple
shedding sunlight


the pale glow
of alley maples —
path of the moon


apple harvest —
weighing the future
of honeybees


playground path
a leaf with a mind
of its own


first cold snap
I defrost
my freezer


autumn clouds
carrying sunset's colors...
I count the days
